40% - Presentations and Contributions to Class Discussions

Write a proposal and estimate for completing one of these two jobs:

1) Two photographs of the Mermaid Cafe restaurant on Dame St. and the owner for the Irish Times Magazine.

2) Portraits of three Irish fashion designers for the Sunday Times Culture Section.

40% - Project Brief: Digital Portfolio

Description
Students will create a digital portfolio designed for presentation to prospective clients. It should include approximately 15 to 20 images, prepared in a format that is accessible to the widest range of potential viewers (ie. .pdf, .ppt, .swf, etc.).

Included with the portfolio on a printed page must be a list of three potential clients (with contact addresses) to whom you would send this portfolio, and why the work is appropriate to those clients.

Submission
Save the portfolio presentation on a cd.
The portfolio must be posted no later than Tuesday, May 19, to the lecturer at:

Assessment Criteria
Portfolios will be assessed based on the coherence and professionalism of the presentation. The suitablity of the theme and images to the stated prospective clients is essential. Files must be of an appropriate size and treatment. Any files that do not open will receive a mark of 0%. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Digital Portfolio will be 40% of this portion of the module.

Test the presentation on more than one machine. If it doesn't work as submitted, you recieve 0%. What client is going to ring you up and ask for another version?
